The MSF Carbon Initiative: Reducing Emissions, Improving Sustainability

The Managing Greenhouse Gas Emissions project by MSF aims to empower Mallee farmers with knowledge and tools to reduce emissions while boosting profitability. Pathways to Sustainable Farming in the Mallee

Greenhouse gas emissions on Mallee farms are primarily driven by methane from livestock, nitrous oxide from fertilisers, and carbon dioxide from diesel use. However, farmers can adopt dual-benefit practices like minimum tillage, maintaining soil cover, and optimising fertiliser use to achieve both environmental and economic gains.
